VAL  PERSOON  WATERCOLOR

January 8, 2008  ...  What a fine quiet time I have given myself.  The whole month of December as a time to read and be still.  I love the quietness and peace in my soul today.   Now it is time to return to work.  I am excited to start painting again.  The web site is a little harder to nurture but I am determined.   I scheduled a workshop for February and am working on show schedules   ...   2008 has begun.

April 24, 2007  ...   The return trip from Pullman allowed time to stop at Lyon's Ferry.  I love that place.  Over the years, there have been many visits to this favorite park.  A perfect swimming hole and reading atmosphere is a real treat during a long drive. The poplar trees are old, impressive and a bit fragile.  I feel a kinship.  The earth there has a different purpose and the word 'time' takes on a quiet aspect.  Relaxing simply happens.

February 22, 2007  ...  Shows have begun with a rush!  The Tacoma Dome and the Northwest Flower and Garden were fun.  I managed to avoid buying any new plants without preparing a place to put them first.  That was hard.  I love the heathers.  Classes are beginning and I feel inspired with the new studio space.  The new space calls for larger paintings, maybe a huge red one..    The next job will be to add new photos of the new originals to this web site. (I love the new painting titled "Grandma's Chickens")  My goal is to do this myself before my sister gets here in April.  Then she can help me think about adding more reproductions and possibly an order page.   Ok that's enough challenge and stress for this month..   Later, Val

PS Have you purchased your purple highlighter yet?

January 18, 2007 ... There are now pictures!  15 originals and 30 reproductions are on line.  What a complex task.  I will never again make rude comments at the cost structure of web construction, I promise.  My next job here is to do the complete cycle by myself, paint the picture, photograph it (remembering to charge the batteries), download the image, size and publish for the web with emails to interested customers and copies for records and storage.  If I get through the whole thing I get to color the day purple on my calendar.  I love those purple days.  I'll let you know which day.   Val

PS  Classes start on the 20th in the new studio.  Another excuse to use my purple highlighter.

More News:   January 12, 2007 ... What a lot has happened.  I love it when my sister visits.  There now is pictures on this site, what a project.  I also have moved my working studio and have a bigger, fun space to experience teaching.

I would love to see you there.

Coffee is on most of the time

2007 - a new year for expanded workshops and personal experiences.
                    come find me,  Val

News:    March 29th 2006...Well, Its been about two years since I decided to build my own website.  With my sisters' emergency help we now have writing kind of figured out.  Pictures will be next.  The digital camera is sitting in its shiny new box, ready to be understood.  I will open the manual and read the directions next.  Hopefully it won't take another year to download and publish them here.     In the meantime you can find my paintings at art shows and Freighthouse Art Gallery.  Wish me luck     Val
